My Approach
My approach can be summed up in these two photos.
Stepping out of your comfort zone:
a mental health adventure!

Think of our sessions like chatting with a friend, but with fewer cat memes and more focus on your well-being. I strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where you feel heard and understood.
I do believe most of my practice comes from practicing what I preach. So, the picture above, there is a story behind it and a reason I chose it. I've never done cross country skiing before. In fact, I fall walking in shoes. I'm super clumsy, uncoordinated doesn't even accurately describe me. So when a friend encouraged me to cross country ski I thought,
"well, here's my chance to break my first bone".
Knowing the chances were high, I decided to give it a try. Long story short, it was very difficult for someone like me at my age to do. However, I am someone who strives to live out of my comfort zone and try new experiences. This is just one example. I can give you severalLiving inside your comfort zone is like being wrapped in a cozy blanket on a cold day – it feels safe, warm, and predictable. But let’s be honest, if you stayed wrapped up forever, you’d miss out on some pretty awesome stuff. Here’s why stepping out of your comfort zone is like giving your mental health a supercharged boost:

Adventure Awaits
Think of your comfort zone as a sleepy little village. It’s nice and all, but the real fun starts when you venture out into the wild unknown. Just like Frodo leaving the Shire, you’ll discover strengths and abilities you never knew you had. And hey, you might even meet a few wizards along the way (or at least some pretty cool people).

Goodbye Rut
Staying in your comfort zone can lead to a rut so deep you might need a ladder to get out. Trying new things shakes up your routine, giving your brain a workout. It's like sending your mind to the gym, but with fewer burpees and more high-fives.

Hello Self Confidence
Every time you step out of your comfort zone, you collect little victories. Whether it’s trying that weird new food or finally taking that salsa dancing class, each success boosts your confidence. Soon, you’ll feel like you can conquer anything – even assembling IKEA furniture without the instructions!

Bye-Bye-Bye...Boredom
Routine can turn your brain into a snoozefest. When you try new things, your brain lights up like a Christmas tree, making life more interesting and exciting. It’s like adding extra sprinkles to your mental health sundae.
My Personal Fave - Embrace Your Awkward
Sure, stepping out of your comfort zone can be awkward. You might trip over your own feet, you might break your leg trying to cross country skii, or you might learn a new skill, either way you tried something new! Embracing awkward moments builds resilience and teaches you to laugh at yourself. Laughter, after all, is the best medicine – even if you’re laughing because you just spilled coffee on yourself in front of your crush.

Like a Super Plant
Just like plants need sunlight and water to grow, your mental health needs new experiences. Stepping out of your comfort zone is like giving yourself a daily dose of sunshine and adventure. You’ll grow stronger, more adaptable, and more resilient. Plus, you’ll have some pretty great stories to tell at parties. Random fact about me, if you come into my home or office you'll know I am a nut about plants too. Plants are also good for your mental health!
Together, we’ll tackle your concerns head-on, working collaboratively to find practical solutions and strategies that work for you. Once I get to know you, I’ll challenge you in constructive ways to help you grow and reach your goals. Personal growth often comes from stepping out of our comfort zones, and I’m here to support you through that process. Don’t worry, it’s more like a gentle nudge than a push off a cliff.

If you’re ready to start your journey toward a healthier, happier life and relationship, if your ready to get out of your comfort zone in ANY area of your life...reach out to schedule a session. I look forward to working with you!
